She tipped her head to one side; hadn't he been asking if StarClan were peaceful? Then she realized that he had probably meant the stars themselves. He had obviously never heard of StarClan, but she would tell him about them. Talking to stars and dead cats wasn't as impossible as it sounded for her. "StarClan are the spirits of good forest cats who have died. Every star is a StarClan cat." she explained. "I know you must find it hard to believe, but it is true." she added. Having grown up a rogue he must think she sounded crazy, but perhaps he would be open-minded enough to believe her.

She grunted in agreement, but she didn't know if he would go to the dark forest or not. It seemed like afterlives were mostly for Clan cats, so maybe he would just die instead of going to the dark forest. She had never met any dead rogues in her travels. Then she tilted her head slightly at his question, surprised that he didn't know much about the cats here. He must be pretty solitary, like herself. "The Clans?" she asked, and shook her head. "No, I'm a loner. I doubt the Clans would accept me." Spookdancer had been a loner all her life, so being among many cats and following their rules and routines wasn't all that appealing to her even though she admired their warrior code and believed in StarClan. And the part of the reason she had mentioned was true; the Clans were hardly likely to accept a cat that was both a rogue and the daughter of a treacherous exile.

She shrugged. "They don't trust strangers easily. Loyalty is very important to them, and they don't always trust outsiders to be loyal. And some cats think that cats who aren't Clanborn are inferior." she meowed, recalling what she had learned about the Clans. However she didn't blame them; she probably wouldn't trust a random cat who asked to live with her. "More cats mean more mouths to feed, and with set territory borders and not much prey in leaf-bare, that can be difficult." she explained this to him in reply to his second thought. One of the reasons being a Clan cat didn't appeal to her was their set borders; she was a traveler and liked to go wherever she wanted to.

Spookdancer didn't say anything more, but simply looked at the other cat. She agreed with him there; the Clan cats were wrong to think they were better than everyone else, but then again, no cat is perfect. During this pause she realized that she had just told some of the Clans' weaknesses to a potentially dangerous cat, and decided not to say any more. For now he just seemed curious, but she didn't know if he would use anything she told him about the Clans to his advantage later on. Just because she was a loner didn't mean she wanted the Clans to be invaded or driven away. They were peaceful as long as she kept off their territory, and she didn't want that to change.

The black she-cat shrugged. "They don't do anything too weird. Mostly they are just normal cats." she replied, wondering where he had heard such silly rumors. Other than StarClan and the warrior code, they didn't have any beliefs. As far as she knew they were just like any other cats. "They are very good fighters, though." she added, wondering again if he was planning an invasion or something. She had never known the Clans to loose a battle for their territory, and with their thorough training of their apprentices it wasn't likely to happen.

She nodded, her tail-tip twitching slightly. Deciding to change the subject in case he wanted more information about them from her, she meowed, "Where are you from then, if you aren't from around here?" Any cat who had been raised with the rogues here would know about the Clans. The black cat didn't really expect much of an answer to her question, but she was still suspicious of him. The Clans were good fighters from the way they trained to fight each other, but that might only encourage him to get a big army of fighters for an invasion. There was no doubt that controlling all that territory would be appealing to most of the rogues here.

She nodded in understanding at his words. So he had traveled a lot before deciding to stay here, just like her. Her story was similar. When her mother died she and her sister left the place where they were raised and traveled until they reached the Clan territories. When her sister had joined ShadowClan, Spookdancer had wandered around for quite a while. It was only after she found the Moonstone and learned the mysteries of StarClan that she decided to make a den just outside the rogue territory. "I have been a traveler too." the black-she cat replied, but didn't say any more than that. Maybe they were from the same forest, but she doubted it. Where she had come from wasn't as far away as the place he seemed to be describing.
