Surprise struck Dapple like a thorn, her eyes grew a bit and then shrunk back to normal size with worry and doubt flashing through the golden depths of them. "I'm not due for another few moons." She announced briefly feeling a bit guilty about not being very specific on how she was coming along. Her senses made her a bit proud as of being a mother soon and having to protect herself and the kits coming. "And you don't need to hunt for me i can do it myself.." She mew'd softly her tail lowering to the ground and her head raising up to Dragonheart's level. She had not noticed how much she looked like she was scared, the lowering of her head and the slant of her shoulders. Slowly she grew a bit taller and raised her shoulders up to almost level with Dragonheart's but a bit shorter then her. Dapple then went passed Dragonheart to follow Bloodrain, and nodded to Dragonheart on the way by as if for respect or something. her nose tingled as she scented the area around her but she couldn't smell anything all she could pick up was the scent of Bloodrain. Maybe she couldn't support herself! With this nose she wouldn't be able to find anything at all to satisfy her stomach.

Dragonheart let out a sigh of relief. She knew little about having kits, and so had had no idea if the kits were going to come in 5 minutes of 5 moons. She seemed happyer now that she knew the kits werent going to be born any secound. Tail in the air she followed the other two at a distance. She didint want to gte in the way of the she-cats hunt, even if it was on their terra... But she didint trust Bloodrain.

Sighing in exasperation, the tom adopted a bored look as he stared off to the side, hazel eyes distant as he zoned out. He wasn't all that interested in hearing about kits; he'd never seen one in his life. Well, his mother had told him he'd had a little sister, but he couldn't recall what she looked like or any other memories of her, so he'd just dismissed the she-cat as having never lived very long if he couldn't even remembered her.
Well, I guess I saw my reflection in the river every now and then...
A nostalgic feeling washed over him, and he pictured a stormy day; the sky was a foggy silver while his breath escaped in smoky clouds. The river... It'd been rushing strongly; too strongly.
Blinking, the tom slowed mid-step, flicking one ear as his gaze narrowed and he glanced over at his deputy from the corner of his eye. He could tell she was suspicious of him; for no apparent reason other than the fact that he didn't know anyone who wasn't. Flicking his gaze back in front of him, he noted that the she-cat... What was her name? Oh right, Dapple. Dapple, anyway, seemed rather dejected.
He wasn't sure why it bothered him; maybe because he was still remembering that self-confident she-cat who had managed to stand up to him before, and how she had actually summoned the guts to defend herself.
"What's with the glum look? You'd think the whole forest had burned down."
He meowed, glancing over at her with a slightly distracted look. He hated fickle cats who couldn't make up their mind; if you wanted to be a coward, then run. If you wanted to be the hero, than stand up and die fighting. He didn't care what you chose, so long as you stuck with your decision and didn't start switching and getting all undecided in the middle.
Finish what you started, because there's no such thing as 'rewind'.

With a sigh, dapple turned on bloodrain with a determined look but with a little sadness in her eyes. "I Can't scent very well...... It has something to do with the accident near the road." She lied through her teeth unwilling to let them know her nose had a birth defect from when she was born. Slowly she turned her back to both of them and went forward, scenting the air. Softly her ears turned toward a small rustling in the leaves to the right over her. She stopped and turned her head slowly to get a better look at the creature. It of course was too busy among the leaves to notice her. It was leafbare after all, it must have been gathering its last tid bits. Unfortunately it would lose its life today to feed her and her kits. Slowly she paws worked like magic to her, the forest seemed to work with her as well, the wind blowing in her face and pushing her scent in another direct and the leaves blowing around and crackling under her feet along with the crackling of the wind. So she was silent to the mouse but in a couple seconds the mouse rose its head up and saw her. In a moment's notice the mouse was there and then gone without a challenge or a pounce of the pregnant she cat. With a gloomy look, dapple sat down and just stared at the empty spot where the mouse had disappeared without a trace.
