Herb Guide For Medicine Cats and Their Apprentices

~Herbs, Berries, and Roots For Use On Their Own~
Juniper Berries- (Stomach aches and coughs) Chew, swallow, and soon you'll be better. Horrible taste.
Broom- (Broken legs and wounds) Chew into poultice and spit onto wound. Will sting.
Marigold Leaves- (Infected wounds) Chew into paste and spit onto the infected wound. Will sting.
Chervil Root- (Bellyaches) Eat.
Chervil Leaves- (Infected wounds and preventing infection) Chew into paste and press the paste on the wound. Will sting.
Burdock Root- (Rat bites or infected wounds) Press on wound. Will sting.
Alderbark- (Toothaches) Eat.
Yarrow- (Poison) Eat. Makes cats sick. May not rid patient of poison. Can also be applied to wounds to expel poison.
Feverfew- (Chills, fevers, coughs, and headaches.) Eat. Has bitter smell and taste.
Lavender- (Chills, fevers, and coughs) Eat. Smells sweet.
Catnip(Catmint)- (Whitecough and greencough) Soft leaves with irrisistable smell and taste. Eat.
Poppy Seeds- (Pain or shock) Eat, but not too much at a time. Poppy seeds also help you fall asleep.
Chamomile- (Distress) Eat. Tastes good.
Horsetail- (Infected wounds) Apply horsetail juice on the wound. Will sting.
Coltsfoot- (Breathing) Eat.
Watermint- (Best cure for bellyaches) Eat. Has a really good minty taste, you'll know when you eat it.
Comfery- (Injuries and broken bones) Small dark green leafed plant that blooms white, purple, or pale yellow flowers. Chew into poultice and apply to wound.
Celandine- (Irritated eyes) Eat. Small medium shaded leaves with yellow flowers.
Travelling herbs- (Strength and hunger) Eat before going on a long journey.
Goldenrod- (Heals wounds) Chew leaves into a poultice an spread on a wound.
Tansy- (Coughs) Eat. Too much eaten can cause bellyache.
~Poultices~
Ragwort Leaves and Juniper Berries Poultice- (Aching joints) Apply to joint. Don't eat!
Goldenrod Poultice- (Aching joints) Apply to joint.
~Other~
Mousebile- (Ticks) Press on ticks. Soon they'll drop off. Do not eat! Cary in a leaf. Wash paws after use.
Cobwebs- (Bleeding) Press and hold cobwebs on wound until bleeding stops.
Honey- (Sore throats) Eat. Sticky. Feels good on throat
Deathberries*- (Killing) Feed to victim. Otherwise known as Yew.
*This herb is only used when patient is sentenced to death or in final moments of death
